Diamondville (/diamondville/ [Translation Unavailable]) is a subtropical Town located in Ostbridge Dutchy, Queoulnia Kingdom, within the Sylvanian Empire.

The name Diamondville is derived from the Sylvin language, as Diamondville was founded by Zlkdshèj Broady, who was culturaly Sylvin.

Climate

Diamondville has a yearly average temperature of 17°C (62°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 28°C (82°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cold 7°C (44°F). Diamondville receives an average of 242 cm/y (95 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the summer. Diamondville covers an area of nearly 5 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 3568 m (11706 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Diamondville was founded durring the early 9th century, by Zlkdshèj Broady. The establishment of Diamondville was only bairly constructed. The sheer number of problems with its founding were enough to make several of the backers funding Diamondville's construction back out of the project. Zlkdshèj Broady pushed on reguardles, and Diamondville was finished, but starts off as a terible place to live.

Diamondville was built using the conventions of Sylvin durring the early 9th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Diamondville is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature masoned stone construction which prominantly features pointed arches, pointed ribbed vault cielings, flying buttress', and window tracery all of which share a simmilar gemoetetic patern halfway between organic and inorganic in design formaing a very distinct aesthetically integrated style. BUildings tend to reach for the havens, and more expencive homes are easily identified by their floor count as well as the addition of decorative features intigrated into the building's design such as statues, gargoyals, and embelished joinery.

Diamondville is buildings are built arround a single premissive packed earth mainstreet which forms a counterclockwise spiral to give the town a over all circular shape. The town has a fortified albit thin brick wall. The wall has most of the feeatures of a typical castle wall, just on a much smaller scale and and budget. Notably brick isn't a particuarly soild choice for resisting siege weapons. Diamondville's wall wouldn't hinder a proper army, but it is more than sufishent for bandits and other small marauding groups. Diamondville's monster and outlaw focused fortifications are in an unremarkable state. To some, this is the ideal sate for defences to be in. In need of absoutly nothing, and ready to serve the town as needed.

Right off the bat Diamondville hits you in the face with its success. Everyone, even the peasants, are dressed in well made clothing. Every tool and implement you can see is finely made, and people will boast to you as obvious strangers of the wonders which can be found in their markets. More interestingly is a total lack of beggars, and plenty of new buildings are going up even as you speak. Somehow this town has come into quite a lot of wealth, and recently from the looks of things.

Civic Infrastructure

Diamondville has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Diamondville. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Diamondville's parks.

Diamondville has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Diamondville.

Diamondville has a government-funded child care program, overseen by the local Department of Nursemaids, which is responsible for providing childcare to working-class citizens according to local ordinances.

Diamondville has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Diamondville's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Diamondville has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Diamondville's natural decorations nor waterways.

Diamondville has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Diamondville has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Diamondville is home to a University which provides higher education in a variety of fields, and also serves as a research institute for those same fields.

Cultural Notes

Diamondville's garrison was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used which employed abundant symbolic geometry, using pure forms such as the circle and square, and plans are based on often symmetrical layouts featuring rectangular courtyards and halls. These structures were is decorated with carved stone or stucco reliefs and made use of colorful stone mosaics..

In Diamondville during thunderstorms, with each flash of lightning, everyone sees different monsters from the corner of their eyes.

The Leshy, Lichen near Diamondville are known to be a mutant strain of the creature.

Diamondville's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in spring and involves creating small tokens to channel Abjuration energies of tier 1 via oath swearing.
